Beautful Agnes Water

Posted on October 18, 2013

Hello, hope you are enjoying yourself and the awesome weather that has been. The great weather’s being beautifully backed with just as awesome late sunsets.

The upcoming week in weather looks mainly fine, hovering around a balmy 27 degrees. Over the weekend there looks to be patches of rain but should clear up come the weekdays. The triple S slogan (slip, slop and slap) has been revamped. Now quadruple S it up with slip, slop, slide and slap – which means slide on a hat. Never thought I would see the day.

The week of weather is timely supporting the week in surf. The Agnes Water beaches are giving great swells and nice waves from Monday, which looks to last all week. Dust off the board, take some time off work and get out there.

Do you know of a great Australian that you would like to nominate for a Australia Day award? Nominations close 31st of October for next year’s awards so get them in soon. To access the nomination forms click here. Nominations can be hand delivered to any council’s offices, faxed to (07) 4975 8500, emailed to or posted to Gladstone Regional Council, PO Box 29, Gladstone QLD 4680.

If you are an Agnes Water local and haven’t checked out the only operating newly renovated lighthouse that is open to the public I recommend taking a tour. 1770 Larc! Tours offer 10% discount for locals, check out their website here.

That’s all for this week’s 1770 blog. Check out the Captain Cook Holiday Village Facebook page and lets hear your thoughts of the beautiful town. Till next time.
