The long weekend in Agnes Water
Posted on June 7, 2013Hope you all have grand designs to celebrate the Queen’s birthday and if you don’t enjoy the long weekend anyway.
The Queen’s birthday bash means for a lot of people a ripe old knee high so celebrate it Agnes Water style. Baffle Creek Raft Race will be held this Sunday for a worthwhile cause. The event raises money for local flood relief so get on board and donate. The racing begins at 9am and will be held at Flat Rock Picnic Ground. If you are feeling the need to get into the spirit bring a canoe too!
If rafting isn’t your cup of tea to salute the Queen maybe a scenic walk on one of the many walking tracks that 1770 Agnes Water offer is. Some of the top parks of the 1770 area are Deepwater National Park, Eurinbula National Park and Kroombit Tops. These are beautiful locations perfect for a family or romantic picnic too.
Forget the State of Origin, Agnes Waters own Marlins rugby side dominated again, another great outing. There’s the big mid-year game coming up, first and second collide will collide. Marlins take on Gin Gins at Gin Gin rugby league ground. Get to it, support the boys home on Sunday the 16th. It should be an epic match. Also, don’t forget State of Origin.
The weather over the next week has a consistent high of 22 degrees, not to beach friendly but fishing is always on the table. Surf is nothing to dramatic at the moment. It could pick up the as the tides move. If you are starting off the waves will still be a bit of a challenge. And, the chop out there is a fun easy ride for the advanced, it is worth a mossy down.
Thanks for reading this week’s blog, love to hear what you have planned in Agnes Water for this long weekend – pop by Captain Cooks Holiday Village Facebook page and let us know.
Till next time have an awesome time for the Crew in 1770.
